Martin's Manifesto
GREENs put sustainability and justice at the heart of politics - a safe and just world for all, for our children and grandchildren. Greens will work for:
DECENT PUBLIC SERVICES
Greens will defend schools from closure, especially here in Hull, and address the causes of Hull's poor educational record.
We seek to abolish student tuition fees and promote learning at all stages of life. We will seek to strengthen education across the city
We want to protect hospitals, post offices, libraries and police stations from threat, closure and privatisation.
Greens will invest in public transport, footpaths, cycleways, and safe routes to school. We oppose new roadbuilding and airport expansion.
We call for greater police visibility to tackle crime and the fear of crime.
A BETTER ENVIRONMENT
Greens are committed to meaningful investment in renewable energy, waste reduction and recycling. Hull recycles about 12%. We can do better, and the public are telling us so.
Blair's government remains indifferent to the horrendous future consequences of climate change - Blair even failed on our minimal Kyoto pledge.
Greens will make taxes work to cut pollution and make polluters pay.
We will protect green space, air quality, waterways and wildlife.
We will put an end to animal experiments, factory farming and bloodsports.
The Green Party will work to ban GM crops and support organic production to make good food available for all.
GREENS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Over a million people voted Green in the European elections last year. Greens now serve on many political bodies.
JUSTICE FOR ALL
Greens are committed to peace and human rights - everywhere.
We opposed the unjust war on Iraq throughout, and work to defend civil liberties here.
We aim to eliminate all Weapons of Mass Destruction, including our own, and halt the manufacture and export of arms.
Greens will protect those fleeing persecution and work for a just asylum system. We fight to end all forms of racism, sexism, homophobia, and discrimination on grounds of disability or religion.
Greens will give pensioners a fair deal, have set our single pension at £109, and campaign to restore the link with average earnings.

Hull needs a Green MP.
Vote Deane, Vote GREEN.
Let's see what GREEN can DO!
